Q. How much do The Bluejays charge?
A. Our prices vary depending a number of factors; location, size of the event, how long you require us to play, size of band required, etc. The easiest thing to do is drop us a message via our Contact page including as much info on your event as you have, and we'll be able to give you an accurate quotation. Booking The Bluejays is as simple as confirming with us the date, time and venue - the rest we can take care of!
Q. How long do you play for?
A. Our standard set times are 2 x 45 minutes. Through many years of playing events, we have found this to be the optimum set length, allowing us to play a set made up of the very best songs of the era.
Q. Where are you based and how far will you travel?
A. We're based in London but travel worldwide. The Bluejays have played in New York, Sydney, Dubai, Zürich, Barcelona, Margate... you name it! We frequently gig in Scotland, Wales, the North and the South West. For our own safety, we'll usually quote for an overnight stay for any booking over 3 hours from London (Travelodge or equivalent).
Q. How many people are in the band?
A. Our traditional line-up includes 4 musicians. However, the band can easily be tailored to suit the size of your event. The 9-piece line-up (as seen in our touring show Rock and Roll Revolution) is highly recommended if your budget allows. All line-ups are fantastic and will have your dancefloor full all night!

Q. Do we need to provide a stage?
A. A stage is always a great addition to a performance but is not a requirement. We just ask for a flat surface with a minimum area of W5m x D3m.
Q. What equipment do you provide?
A. Everything. We hire in a custom PA suited to each event. Just let us know an approximate size of your venue and we'll select the best sound system for the space. All we require from the venue is two 13A power sockets near to the stage.
For bookings outside the UK, it is more economical to hire equipment locally. We have a list of necessary items which are easily sourceable from any local PA hire company.
Q. My venue requires Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing. Are The Bluejays covered?
A. Of course! The Bluejays have Public Liability cover up to £1,000,000. All our equipment is PAT tested and of the highest standard. We are also members of the Musician's Union.
Q. How long do you need to set up?
A. If access to the venue and performance area is easy we can be set up, soundchecked and out of your way within approximately 90 minutes.
Q. Our venue has a sound limiter, can we still book The Bluejays?
A. Yes, we're very happy to work within your venue's limits.
Q. Can you play a song of our choice as a first dance?
A. Of course! The only thing we ask is that it's from the 50s or early 60s as our branding is very important to us! We have some excellent options in our repertoire - be sure to have a look!
For first dance songs from any other era we're more than happy to play the original recording through our PA.
Q. Do we also need to book a DJ?
A. Not really. We're very happy to play music through our PA before, between and after our sets. We have great vintage and modern playlists. You're more than welcome to link us to your own Spotify playlist or provide us with a pre-loaded iPod to really make the evening your own!
Q. Can we choose the set list?
A. You're very welcome to suggest particular songs from our repertoire that you'd like to hear. However, through years of performing at events we've come up with a set list that we know works really well!
Q. Will the band require refreshments?
A. Yes. As most private events will require us to be on site from 5pm until midnight, we ask that a hot meal and soft drinks are provided for each band member and our sound engineer.
Q. Will The Bluejays rock my socks off?
A. Yes. Wear two pairs.
